RECEIPT INSPECTION
The moment your spindle is received by us, we will notify you. We will inspect the shipping container for damage, if damage is found it will be reported to you. Once your spindle is unpacked the spindle is photographed and any physical exterior damage is documented. Any unusual damage will be reported.
SPINDLE DIS-ASSEMBLY
The spindle is carefully disassembled looking for evidences of failure. At this stage we try to discover the failure cause & the actual state of the components. The most important parts are cleaned & calibrated. The failing parts are documented
COMPONENT INSPECTION
In the inspection area trained technicians inspect and analyze each component. Using state-of-the-art analysis methods, each critical component is then checked for size, run out, alignment and parallelism. After careful inspection, a written report of probable root causes for the unit’s failure and a method for failure prevention is created.
Estimate of costs for the repair is drawn up on the basis of the determined data and discovered damage. Moreover, we will advise you on the technical questions and, if it seems sensible and economical, we will make a proposal to optimize your spindle for the production process.
EVALUATION & QUOTE
Virtually any component can be machined, re-manufactured, or manufactured new in our fully outfitted state-of-the-art machine shop. Experienced machinists will rebuild or reproduce any part needed. All inspected parts with details of defect or in-accuracy are documented for reviewing.

Once all the documents are reviewed a detailed quote is prepared. The quote will include our failure analysis of what we believe caused the failure and the repairs are needed to return the spindle factory specifications. It will also include our estimate of the time and cost to make the repairs. We will send you the quote and review it with you. At this point we need your ‘approval to proceed.’ Once the repair has your approval the spindle repair begins. After reviewing our repair quote should you decide not to have your spindle repaired we will box up all the parts and return it to you. Shipping cost to return the spindle will be at your expense.
REPAIR
We start repair work only after written approval from the customer. The approval can be a confirmed work order or an email giving consent to start of work. Once approval is received all parts are thoroughly cleaned. Parallel to the cleaning of all components, the replacement parts are re-manufactured or bought. A fully modernized, climate controlled grinding facility is used for grinding of spindle shaft & other components. Our facility is capable of producing TIR on external & internal tapers less then 0.001 mm. Finally balance of the spindle shaft is inspected and rebalancing is done if needed.
ASSEMBLY
Trained assembly specialists carefully assemble the spindle in dedicated climate controlled clean assembly room. Using new bearings, with high speed precision lubricants, spindles are assembled. If required, fitting spacers will be reground. Rotating assemblies are measured for run-out and balance. If the spindle has a tool retention system, collet or power-drawbar, it will be inspected and tested for correct operation, tool retention and pull force.
GREASE DISTRIBUTION RUN
Afterwards, every spindle is subjected to a grease distribution run or run-in process. Proper grease distribution across all areas of bearings ensures long bearing life & thermal equilibrium of the spindle assembly as a whole.
TESTING
Finally, every spindle goes through a comprehensive testing process. All parameters, e.g. geometrical accuracies, temperature, vibration, rotation, drawing force, switching status, rotary encoder etc. is checked & values are measured. These values are documented in a test protocol and enclosed when the spindle is delivered.
CHECK OUT
The spindle is moved to the shipping area. All documentation and any parts or tooling provided by the customer are collected for return to the customer. If the exterior of the spindle was painted, it will be repainted to a close match to the color received.
The last step of the process is final sign-off by quality inspector. A copy of sign-off checklist, specifications, and warranty card will be shipped back to the customer. The spindle is protected and packed for return shipment to the customer.
